Longview Fibre recognizes that effective safety management is an essential part of our management philosophy. It is also a demonstration of caring and ethical treatment of employees. We also recognize that the quality of safety management is a valid indicator of overall management effectiveness.
It is the policy of our Company to perform work safely. Working safely is essential to successful operation. To fulfill the requirements of this policy, an organized and effective safety program must be carried out at each location where work is performed.
- The safety procedures and instructions in each location's Safety Manual represent Longview Fibre's viewpoint on how to handle the specific problems addressed.
- An active safety program including safety procedures developed through analysis of tasks and hazards, job training and safety meetings is required.
We believe that by using these procedures in a positive manner our plants will enhance their safety program and safety performance. Use of these procedures in all locations is required.
It is the policy of Longview Fibre to comply with all requirements of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act, more commonly known as OSHA, or the equivalent local state plan.
